Last week, I worked on my project background and posted it as my blog post for week 7. While that was happening, Josh and I discovered that we thought we had the wrong packet, but we had the wrong kit and the right one. So Josh printed out the packet we used before this one, and Josh ordered the new DNA purification kit (we had the RNA purification kit before). The previous kit and packet required ddt. Buying DDT was more expensive than buying a different kit, so we returned to the original DNA purification plan. The kit arrived today (Monday, the 25 of March).
I am looking forward to using the kit and learning more. Last week, we did pick a plant leaf to use for the plant DNA purification. Now, the challenge is that that plant is on a watering system, so Josh will try to find a sample of the same plant not on a watering system when he goes hiking.
