Last week, I cut off a flower, a few leaves, and some stems. I brought it back to the lab in ziplock bags. Some little critters tagged along on the flower. I cut up the flower, leaves, and stem into pieces. I used a scalpel on a cutting board. Right now, the pieces are drying out. I will use these samples to make the tea, which I will use on the Ecoli. I will find the zone of inhibition from the microbial properties and maybe use the geneJET plant RNA purification mini-kit to test the DNA to see if it has changed throughout the experiment.
